The White House in Deal joins Kerry’s breast cancer drive with 'Beauty and the Breast' event

‘Beauty and the Breast’ is the fantastic name for an event which will mark the collaboration of Deal hair and beauty salon The White House and Breast Cancer Now.

Co-owners Claire Blaszinski and Tracie Bates have pledged to become official sponsors of the Deal and Kent branch of the charity, led by Kerry Rubins, following a launch night at the Victoria Road salon, tonight (Thursday).

It will be from 4pm until 8pm.

Mrs Blaszinski said: “There has been a lot of people in Deal that have had breast cancer or are going through it.

“I have had a long-standing working relationship and friendship with Kerry and have had events here in the past. However, myself and Tracie have decided to become official sponsors of just one charity, and have chosen Breast Cancer Now.”

Prosecco and nibbles, supplied by the Bohemian and Bloody Marys, will be available. And there will be face and nail painting and hair styling for just £5.

In addition, there will be demonstrations on HD Brows, Olaplex, GHD curling and micro-needling facials, plus free mini treatments in return for donations to the charity.

Karen’s Cakes and Crafts will be supplying cupcakes, truffles and pink merchandise, and John Benton will be having his “very hairy” back waxed.

There will also be a raffle with beauty hampers up for grabs. Tickets are already on sale for £2 a strip, of three strips for £5, at the salon.

Miss Rubins said: “The event is for adults and little one’s too. Everything raised on the night will go to the charity.”

Mrs Bates said: “I have a very strong reason for wanting to support this charity.

“I had an office in Madeira and a young girl, aged 25, ran it for me. By the time she noticed she had a lump, it was visual to everyone. By the time they operated, she already had secondary breast cancer. I raised £25,000 and we got her home to England. But sadly she passed away, aged 28.

“We are really proud to be official sponsors and to work with Kerry.”

As official sponsor, the salon will supply a hand-tailored spa day worth £200 to the person who raises the most sponsorship for the annual Crocus Walk, taking place this Saturday.

Throughout the year, the salon will also be supplying massages to runners at the Clifftop Challenge organised by Chantele Rashbrook.
