Dover Athletic made it four matches unbeaten under new manager Chris Kinnear after a physical game at promotion rivals Boreham Wood on Saturday.

Kinnear fielded the same starting XI who had won 3-0 at Weston-super-Mare a week earlier and, after containing early pressure from Wood, Whites went in front after 19 minutes.

Moses Ademola’s cross caused confusion in the Wood box and the ball eventually fell for Barry Cogan (pictured) to sidefoot home.

But Wood equalised five minutes later when Michael Thalassitis intercepted a pass and cut inside before beating Whites keeper Mitch Walker.

Both sides had chances to win the game in the second half but Whites were content to come away with a point, especially after being reduced to 10 men in the last minute when skipper Ian Simpemba received a straight red card following a clash with Charlie O’Loughlin.

The point sees Whites stay third in Blue Square Bet South.
