Car fire in Grange Road in Deal damages two other cars

A white Audi was destroyed by a fire in Grange Road in Deal in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters attended the scene within minutes of a call at 3.07am and used two hose reels to put the A6 model out.

Crew manager Paul Copley said: “The car was totally destroyed by the fire and two other cars parked on the drive were heat damaged.”

Grange Road resident Georgina Law and her family were awoken by the incident.

She said: “My boyfriend woke up to a car alarm and then we heard this massive bang.

“We put the blind up and saw flames. It was like it was exploding.

"We phoned 999 straight away. It was really bad.”

The owner of the car was aware.

A police spokesman said: “I can confirm KFRS have reported a car fire in Grange Road, Deal, to Kent Police and officers will be making inquiries about it today.”
