Prom On The Farm: Tickets go on sale for Martha Trust’s new one-day festival at Solley's in Ripple

Pack your wellington boots and sunglasses and get set for Martha Trust’s new one-day festival Prom On The Farm.

Taking place in the fields of Solley’s Ice Cream Parlour in Ripple, the new event is replacing the annual Sandwich Prom held in the gardens of the Salutation.

It will be on Sunday, July 1, from noon until 8pm and tickets are now on sale.

The confirmed line up includes the Kingsdown Band, professional guitarist Tom Abrahams, covers singer CJ Jones with her band Gypskazz and reggae band Hey Rudi.

For the first time, and to keep in line with the farm theme, Contraband will be performing traditional English, Irish, American and Scottish folk tunes.

Sarah Banks will once again be compere for the day.

There will be plenty to keep the children busy, with six hours of entertainment organised by ‘Marriage Poppins’ performer Lizzie Chittenden and her dedicated team of volunteers, plus face painting by Suzanna Make-Upps and twinkle hair accessories and henna by Hannah Gunton.

Festival goers can pack a picnic or enjoy food and drink from one of the on-site vendors and bars, who will all be donating 20% of their sales back to the charity.

Kimberley Anderson, corporate relations manager at Discovery Park, which is sponsoring the event along with Solley’s and Red Fortress Ltd, said: “It will be a great day out for everyone, all generations and families, with the fields of Solley’s Ice Cream Parlour a perfect venue.

“With other local Kent producers contributing on the day it will also fly the flag for some other inspirational local businesses .

“We are so privileged to be part of the east Kent community, with events like this helping to bring people together. We look forward to a great turn out and a wonderful day for all to enjoy, and most importantly raising funds for this wonderful charity supporting the lives of people with profound disabilities.”

There will also be a big auction plus a raffle and barrow of booze to win on the day.

Tickets, in advance, cost £30 for a family (two adults and up to three children under 16 years of age), single tickets cost £12 per adult and £5 per child.

New to this year, you will be able to book a 3 metre x 3 metre gazebo space for an extra £40 so you can bring your own gazebo along on the day.

You can purchase tickets online here, or by calling 01304 610448 or direct from Solley’s Ice Cream Parlour.
