Crazy golf course in Walmer to be removed by end of the month

Walmer’s neglected crazy golf course will be removed by the end of the month.

After concerns raised on social media about the site, KentOnline asked Dover District Council if they planned to restore it.

A spokesman said: “We are aware of conditions at this site, and have been in discussions with Your Leisure who lease the area from the council as part of the Walmer Green paddling pool complex.

“It has been agreed with Your Leisure that they will remove the old equipment by the end of April.

“The longer-term plans for the crazy golf site are under consideration.”

Paul Louis, of Hull Place, Sholden, has an idea to restore the run down site.

He said: “My idea is to give different artists a hole each to work with in their own creative way.

“Get Turner involved aswell and to do something worthwhile with it.”

“It shouldn’t be removed, it should be restored.

“It’s not a business thing, it would be a charity thing.”

He has suggested that people could donate a sum of money to use it.

Mr Louis is looking to get in contact with as many people as possible to stop removal work taking place.

If you could help or if you’re an artist who would like to get involved with his idea, contact him on 07799 265731.
