Deal house raided by drugs squad

Two people have been arrested after a drugs raid at Stockdale Gardens, Deal.

During the search police officers recovered a quantity of a substance believed to be heroin, a class A controlled drug, and drugs paraphernalia.

A 39-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs. The woman has been bailed until February while further investigations are made and the man was released without charge.

Sgt Rob Marsh said: "This has been a significant result in the ongoing battle to combat the suppliers of class A drugs operating in the community and sends out a strong message that this type of criminality will not be tolerated.

"South Kent police are committed to addressing the concerns of the public regarding the use and supply of class A drugs and the link to committing acquisitive crime."
