South East Coast Ambulance Service said all the people are out of their vehicles and have been taken to the QEQM hospital in Margate with minor injuries.

Sara Ross, from Deal, who passed by the crash, said: "A car is in the middle of the road but cars can still get past.

"Other cars were involved as well, but a bit further back."

A police spokesman said: "One side of the road is blocked but vehicles are moving alternately either way.

"There is a couple of miles tailback."
