Death crash driver named by police

KENT Police have identified a young man killed when his silver Citroen Saxo was involved in a two-car crash on the A258 Deal-Dover road.

He was 24-year-old David Wilson, of Gladstone Road, Deal. The tragedy happened on Sunday, November 12.

A 22-year-old Deal woman, who was also travelling in the car, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, with neck injuries, but later released. A two-year-old child also in the vehicle was unhurt.

Firefighters called to the scene found Mr Wilson trapped in the Citroen, which had landed on its side after a collision with the other car.

Police spokesman Jon Green said: “He died a short while later. The serious crash investigation unit would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.”

A blue SEAT Leon was travelling from St Margaret’s at about 5.45pm to turn onto the A258 towards Dover when it was involved in a collision with the Citroen.

The driver was a 21-year-old man from Densole, Folkestone, who was travelling with a passenger, a 16-year-old girl from Sandwich. Neither of the people travelling in the car were injured.
