Dover manager Andy Hessenthaler is looking for a total of 71 points to clinch a place in the Blue Square South play-offs.

After Tuesday’s 4-1 win at Hampton, Whites had 65 points already in the bag with five games left leaving Hessenthaler’s men with a realistic target.

Last weekend’s 2-1 win over St Albans was the club’s fourth consecutive win and Hessenthaler (pictured) is thrilled to see his injury-hit side peak at just the right time.

He said: "We’re a form side and maybe we’re coming good just at the right time.

"We haven’t really talked about points targets but if we’re going to be realistic about it, we need to get two wins out of the last five – 71 points should be enough to make the play-offs.

"We’re looking to finish second, though but that’s not going to be easy."

Dover face two of their play-off rivals over a tough Easter weekend.

On Saturday they are tackle Eastleigh at Crabble before travelling to Welling on Monday (kick-off 3pm).

Hessenthaler said: "In the FA Cup Eastleigh bullied us out of the game and they deserved to win. We’ve got the bit between our teeth, though, we’re confident and look solid."
