A car ended up on its right side in a hair-raising rush hour accident.

It happened this morning on the A258 Dover Road at Ringwould.

The Ford Focus was left blocking the southbound carriageway and a passing member of HM Coastguard helped police control traffic until the wreckage was cleared.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police officers were in Dover Road, Ringwould, following a single-vehicle collision that was reported at 8.15am.

"No injuries have been reported and the road remained closed whilst the vehicle was recovered."

The road was reopened by 10am.
