Talks will take place this week about how to prepare to spend the £1 million Lottery funding that has been allocated to Dover.

The first meeting of the Dover Big Local Interim Partnership will be held on Wednesday at the Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club from 7pm.

Items to be discussed include confirming the status of partnership members – the emphasis is on people who live and work in the town – exploring the Big Local vision, and forming the partnership.

The scheme is due to be officially launched on Saturday, May 25, described as Big Conversation Day, and another £20,000 is available for the launch.

Chairman Ross Miller and secretary Jeremy Cope say they are keen to get more people involved, including younger people and those from different ethnic backgrounds.
