Make your face funny for money in Deal Sainsburys' Red Nose Day competition

Sainsburys in Deal is asking shoppers to take funny selfies to raise cash for Red Nose Day.

The supermarket in West Street is looking to raise £2,500 for Comic Relief through various fun and wacky methods leading up to the weekend of Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14.

Deputy store manager Mark Leppard said: “This year’s theme for Red Nose Day is ‘make your face funny for money’ so we’re asking customers to take a funny selfie of themselves or family, print it off, bring it into the store and enter it for a competition for the funniest face.”

There is also a design a nose competition for children.

On top of this, staff will be dressing up, plus store manager Glenn Adams and Mr Leppard will be completing forfeits that have been chosen by their colleagues, on the Friday.

To culminate their fundraising efforts, pupils from Northbourne Primary School will be street dancing in the store on the Saturday under Dance Fusion 23 and principal Charley Hawkins. Mr Leppard said: “It’s always nice to be doing something for charity that will have an effect on so many people and having some fun along the way makes it all the more enjoyable and worthwhile.”

Entry per selfie is 50p. Full details of the competitions are available in store.
