Mamma Mia! screening will boost Theo’s fund

An open-air screening of Mamma Mia! is being held in aid of Theo’s Mission to Walk.

A large inflatable screen is being donated by Luna Cinema to St Mary’s School in Deal, which will host the event in its field.

Sophie Parkinson, from Luna Cinema, whose daughter is in Theo Knott’s class, says she hopes the screening will raise much-needed funds to help with the youngster’s rehabilitation.

Theo Knott, five, can only walk with the aid of this frame.

The five-year-old, from Deal, has cerebral palsy and his appeal seeks to raise £50,000 to pay for spinal surgery, helping him to walk and be free of pain.

The operation is due to take place on Saturday, June 3.

“We want to raise money for his physio and support after the operation,” said Mrs Parkinson.

“We hope this event will help.

“People must bring their own chairs and picnic blankets as there are not allocated seats.

“They can also bring their own picnics, although we ask that they don’t bring glass.

“It will be held on the school field and there is capacity for 500 people.

“There will be food stalls, and Dominos will be donating 50% of its takings to Theo.”

The event is on Saturday, June 10, and doors open at 8pm.

Tickets are £8 per person in advance or £10 on the gate, and £5 for three- to 15-year-olds.
