Festive fever will hit the town tonight as Deal’s Christmas lights are switched on.
There will be appearances by the cast of the Marlowe Theatre panto, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, including Eastenders star Rita Simons (Roxy Mitchell) and CBeebies’ Mister Maker Phil Gallagher.
The fun starts at 6pm on the stage outside St George’s Church in the High Street.
Music entertainment will be compered by former kmfm DJ Johnny Lewis.
Father Christmas is due to make an appearance at about 7pm.
Signs of Christmas are already appearing in the town’s shops, and chamber volunteers have prepared the town centre by hanging Christmas trees from shop fronts.
The Tree of Nostalgia - a Christmas tree decorated with colourful ribbons in honour of those affected by cancer - in St George’s churchyard, will also return this year.
Last year, it raised more than £230 for Cancer Research UK.
