Police hunt 'fat' attacker after teenage girl sexually assaulted in Walmer

Police are hunting a "fat" sex attacker who assaulted a teenager in Deal.

The victim was sitting on a seafront bench on The Strand in Walmer with her friend when she was targeted by the suspect.

Investigating officer PC Justine Stephens said: "The victim, a teenage girl, was sitting on a bench by the Deal Memorial Bandstand with a friend when a man reportedly approached them.

"He tried to engage the two girls in conversation before sexually assaulting the victim. The two girls then ran off."

The man is described as fat, about 5ft 5in to 5ft 6in tall, aged between 35 and 45 and with short dark hair which was patchy on top.

He was wearing a thick, dark-coloured puffer-style coat and jeans and had a tattoo on his wedding ring finger. He also had a bike with him.

PC Stephens said: "The girls were both understandably shaken by the incident and we are keen to identify the offender."

The incident happened at 5pm on Wednesday, April 26, but details have only just been released as police issue an e-fit of the suspect.
