Now police are appealing for witnesses who might have seen a man waiting at the cliff edge between Dover and St Margaret's at Cliffe shortly before.

Kent Police believe the man is Polish and was living in London.

A spokesman said: "His death is not being treated as suspicious, but officers would like to hear from anyone who may have noticed a man on the cliff top at some time between noon and 2.25pm."
