Woman arrested for alleged assault on Deal seafront

Police are investigating reports a man was assaulted by a woman on Deal seafront.

Officers were called to Beach Street at around 5.15pm and remain at the scene.

Crews from the South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended to assess the alleged victim for injuries.

A police spokesman said: "A woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody.

"The arrested woman and injured man are understood to be known to each other and officers are conducting ongoing enquiries at the scene."

Witnesses say police have been questioning people in nearby restaurants and pubs.
