Southern Water has thanked its customers in Delane Road, Deal after a water hydrant burst, causing a fountain of spray this morning.

A small amount of flooding was reported and contractors temporarily plugged the leak before they contacted Southern Water at about noon.

A statement from a Southern Water spokeswoman said: "We immediately dispatched a specialist crew to the site and are pleased to confirm the repair is now complete.

We would like to thank our customers for their patience while we carried out this essential work."
