Suspected child groomer arrested in Deal after paedophile hunter sting

A man has been arrested on suspicion of child sex offences after a paedophile hunter sting in Deal.

The 34-year-old was tracked down by online hunters at his home on Sunday, April 8.

In a video which was live-streamed to social media, they claim he had been sending explicit messages online to a girl he believed to be 12-years-old.

The string was carried out jointly by a number voluntary detection groups known as Dark Light, Shadow Hunters, Internet Interceptors and Redemption. It was on behalf of Defending the Innocent.

The man was later arrested by police and has since been bailed.

A police spokesman said: "A 34-year-old man from Deal was arrested at 4.22pm on Sunday, April 8 2018 on suspicion of inciting sexual activity with a child.

"He has been bailed until Friday, May 4 2018 while enquiries continue."
