Deal: Teenager arrested after fire in Ellens Road

A 13-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a blaze ripped through a car salvage yard.

Forty firefighters and seven fire engines were sent to the scene in Ellens Road, Deal, Friday night at about 9pm.

There were no reported injuries, however it is believed that more than 120 vehicles have been damaged as a result of the fire.

A teenage girl from Deal was arrested yesterday on suspicion of arson. She has subsequently been released pending further enquiries.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who has not yet been in touch with police, who may have witnessed the fire or who has information that could assist with the investigation.
