Tractor smash causes spud spillage at Betteshanger near Deal

Drivers were advised to keep their eyes peeled after a spud spillage in Betteshanger this morning.

A single vehicle smash saw a tractor spill his load at the roundabout leaving the road in tatters.

Emergency services chipped in to help clear the mess which was sautéed by 3.30pm.

A police spuds-fan said: "We were called at 10.59am on Monday, March 19 to a report of a single vehicle collision involving a tractor on the A258 at the roundabout with the junction of Betteshanger Road, near Deal.

"The tractor’s trailer, which was carrying a load of potatoes, had overturned. No injuries were reported.

"The road was closed for a short time while the tractor and trailer were recovered."
