Two cars were set alight on North Barrack Road, Walmer last night, in two separate incidents.

Firefighters attended the first incident at 11.50pm, a silver Kia Picanto had been set on fire.

Firefighters managed to put the fire out and the car was left with minor damage.

They attended a second incident in the same road at 1.15am on Wednesday morning. The green Vauxhall Astra Estate targeted was completely torched.

Deal Fire Station watch manager Malcolm Cowie said: “By the time we got there, the Astra was absolutely gutted. It was a bad evening in North Barrack Road.”

Police were informed of the incident. They will be carrying out forensic tests and gathering evidence in the coming days.
