Staff and children returning to a Dover childcare nursery for the start of a new term this week have found the centre has been targeted by vandals.

It is thought the offenders climbed over a fence at the Kid Ease Nursery, in Poulton Close, before causing £500 damage to various items.

It happened between 7pm on August 23 and 7.30am on August 27.

PC Amy Winspear said: "This appears to be reckless behaviour causing damage to many items.

"A bench, mud kitchen, children’s toys and campsite den were damaged, the outside of the air conditioning unit was smashed and herbs were pulled out of the herb garden.

"I urge anyone with information to contact police."

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact PC Winspear by calling 01304 218165 and quoting reference ZY/025395/13.
