Former Buckland Mill at Crabble Hill transformed into one and two bed apartments

The former Buckland Mill at Crabble Hill has been transformed into one and two bedroom apartments.

Gillcrest Homes was given the go-ahead to turn the former paper mill into Clocktower Lofts, a loft style living space with open plan kitchens and spiral staircases.

The apartments are now available and prices start from £125,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and £159,995 for two-bedrooms and all apartments have secure basement parking.

Dover has a long history of milling thanks to the River Dour which runs through the town.

This gave rise to a number of the town’s industries, including paper making.

A paper mill has existed on the site since the 18th century, and Wiggins Teape made paper in Dover up until in 2000 when the site was acquired by the then South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Phase three of the development will see new houses built on the site along with a range of community facilities and there are also plans to open up the river walk as a popular local amenity.

The Clocktower Lofts development is being marketed by local estate agents, Miles & Barr.

The Grade II listed Buckland House is likely to be used for educational purposes.
