Police were called after a man's body was found in a field.

Officers were alerted at 9.14am after the grim discovery off Long Lane in Shepherdswell.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene where it was confirmed a man had died.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be completed for the coroner."

Witnesses said police and forensics officers had been seen at the railway bridge in the area.
