Bookmaker Paddy Power tweets pictures from Dover urging immigrants to jump in lorries

Bookmaker Paddy Power came under fire today after tweeting images of a lorry in Dover emblazoned with a message urging immigrants to jump in.

The firm posted pictures of a lorry allegedly driving through the town with images of sporting stars Andy Murray, Raheem Sterling, Mo Farah, Manu Tuilagi and Eoin Morgan.

It carried the message: 'Immigrants, jump in the back! (But only if you're good at sport.)"

A spokesperson for Paddy Power, said "Britain’s sporting future would be as grim as Andy Murray’s demeanour if they were to rely on themselves to produce top class athletes, unless puking in Maguluf becomes a sport."

But the firm faced a backlash on social media from people saying the immigration crisis was no laughing matter ... as you can see below.
