Security incident at Port of Calais causes ferry delays

There are ferry delays at the Port of Dover of up to two hours due to a "security incident" in Calais.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that hundreds of immigrants have stormed the Port of Calais and French police are trying to bring the situation under control.

P&O Ferries tweeted: "The Port of Calais is resolving a security incident.

"As a result our vessels are subject to delay of between 90 and 120 minutes."

The Port of Dover remains open and ferry services to Dunkerque are running to schedule.

A port spokesman said: "Passengers for Calais should contact their ferry operator."
