Two cars, a house and its garage struck by fire at Dove Lea Gardens, River, Dover.

A blaze that tore into a car spread to a house.

The flames reached a second car in a garage and a first floor bedroom.

A man in his 60s had to be treated at the scene.

It happened at Dove Lea Gardens in River this morning.

Firefighters were called out at 10.37am and found the first car ablaze on a drive.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews found a car well alight and the fire had spread to a second car in the garage, which was also on fire.

"A man in his 60s was given first aid and oxygen by crews and placed in the care of paramedics.

“There were no other injuries or people involved."

The crews tackled the blaze using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.

Firefighters says that both cars had extensive fire damage and the house, including the garage and bedroom, had significant fire and smoke damage and was uninhabitable.

Crews were at the scene until just before 1pm.
