Road clears after crash on Whitfield roundabout

A man was able to walk out of his car after he crashed into the central reservation at the Whitfield roundabout, this morning.

An air ambulance, police and firefighters were called to the single vehicle collision on Sandwich Road, Dover, just after 11.30am.

The male driver was seen walking out of his Ford Focus before he was tended to by paramedics.

Firefighter Stewart Morris, whose crew attended for scene safety, said: “He was travelling London bound and hit the central reservation.

"The car remained on all four wheels.”

It is understood the air ambulance landed nearby but was not needed.

As a result of the accident, one lane was closed in both directions between Whitfield and the Duke of Yorks roundabout.

Police press officer Andy Saunders said: “We were called at 11.34am following a single vehicle collision on Sandwich Road, Dover.

“Police, Secamb and KFRS attended the scene."
