Drone footage shows progress at St James' development, Dover

New drone footage shows the progress being made at Dover’s St James development with a cinema, Travelodge and shops finally taking shape.

The video was captured by Alec Esposito of Apex Drone Photography, based in Hawkinge, on Tuesday, August 1.

After years of anticipation, it shows the £53m shopping complex beginning to take shape.

Set to open in 2018, the site will boast a six-screen Cineworld multiplex, 108-bed Travelodge, food outlets like Nandos, Bella Italia and Frankie & Bennys and shops including Next, Poundland and Shoe Zone.

MP Charlie Elphicke visited the site last week.

He said: “It was incredible to see the progress being made at the St James development.

“In place of the hated Burlington House, a new cinema complex and shopping centre are taking shape in the heart of Dover."

Mr Elphicke added: “So much has happened in recent years. Not least getting more investment here in Dover & Deal.
