A dumped sofa next to a bus stop in Melbourne Avenue, Dover, has attracted the attention of social media users.

A DDC spokesman confirmed: “We are aware of this matter and that the item has now been removed.

“We would urge people to contact the council as soon as possible if they witness incidents of fly-tipping so that evidence can be gathered and appropriate action taken.

“We would stress that fly-tipping is a criminal offence. DDC continues to work hard to tackle issues of fly-tipping across the district. If a member of the public witnesses fly-tipping they can report it online on the DDC website or by telephoning 01304 872428 during office hours or 01304 821199 outside of office hours.”
