The rescue took between 10 to 15 minutes, and crews from Dover, Deal and Folkestone were in attendance.

The pup, which "wasn't too far down" was rescued with line rescue equipment.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters used safe access equipment to rescue a dog that had become stuck in bushes after falling seven metres down a cliff face. The dog was safely returned to its owner."

It is believed the owners were present, but it is not known whether the dog's home is nearby.
