Firefighters tackle chimney fire in St Margaret's at Cliffe

Firefighters tacked a chimney fire in St Margaret's at Cliffe last night.

A crew from Dover was called to the incident in Station Road at around 6.45pm.

They arrived to find the chimney well alight and used chimney gear to extinguished the blaze.

They left the scene around 8.15pm.

To prevent similar fires, people are advised to keep their chimneys regularly swept, inspected and well maintained by a professional sweep.
