Witnesses reported the victim was punched in the face and fell to the ground where he was kicked in the head.

Kent Police spokesman Jon Green said: “He told police he did not wish to make a statement or allegation.”

A vague description of one of the offenders was provided by a witness, describing him as a white unshaven man of stocky build, aged between 30 to 40-years-old.

He was said to be 5ft 10 wearing a blue jumper and jeans. He and the other offender were with a group of women.

Mr Green added: “The description was circulated but the offenders were not found.”

Kent Police confirmed that no arrests were made on the day and supporters in the stands were "good natured" and "well-behaved."
