Suspected illegal immigrants from Iran found at Shakespeare beach in Dover

Four suspected illegal immigrants have been detained after being found on a beach in Dover.

Police and Border Force officers were called to Shakespeare Beach in the early hours of this morning.

A Border Force spokesman said: "Four men, who presented themselves as Iranian nationals, were arrested by police officers.

"The men were handed to immigration officials and their cases will be progressed in line with the immigration rules.

"Investigations into the incident are continuing."

A police spokesman added: "Kent Police was called to Shakespeare Beach in Dover at 7.16am on Tuesday 8 August 2017 following a report of suspected migrants."
