Lithuanian lorry driver jailed for trying to smuggle woman into UK via Dover

A lorry driver caught trying to smuggle a woman into the UK claimed he did it "because she was pretty".

Egidijus Zakanauskas said the 27-year-old "attractive" stranger had contacted him in Dunkirk saying she was called "Diana" and asking for a lift.

The married 29-year-old Lithuanian later told Border Force officers at Dover he realised "her story didn't ring true" but still agreed to stash her in his cab in February.
