The first journey on a cruise ship service that began 20 years ago will be retraced.
The exact same sailing from Dover to the Mediterranean region will be retaken to mark Saga Cruises’ anniversary tomorrow night (Saturday).
Saga Sapphire will take the place of Saga Rose to revisit all the ports from the 1997 inaugural cruise.
Meanwhile Saga Pearl II will sail from Dover that night for the fjords of Norway.
And people that night can also watch the vessels leave, and see a fireworks display, from the seafront.
Ports of call for Saga Sapphire include Lisbon, Malaga, Livorno (for Florence) and Civitavecchia (for Rome), which were visited during in the inaugural cruise, as well as Marseilles, Corsica and Gibraltar.
Special guests will also be on board, including past and present Saga VIPs who have shaped the business over the last two decades.
Both vessels, berthed a Cruise Terminals 1 and 2, will set sail at approximately 8.45pm.
Saga Cruises is part of the wider Saga group of companies, also providing services such as holidays and insurance for over-50s based an Enbrook Park, Sandgate, Folkestone.
