Port of Dover police car in crash with another vehicle in Dover

Witnesses are being sought after a crash on the corner of Castle Street last night.

It happened at 8pm and involved a Port of Dover police car and a dark red Daihatsu 4 Track vehicle.

It was reported that the police vehicle, a Land Rover Discovery, was responding to an emergency call and was travelling down Castle Hill Road when the smash took place.

The other car had been travelling along Maison Dieu Road towards the seafront.

One officer, travelling in the police car, sustained a minor injury to his hand.

A Port of Dover spokesman said: "The Port of Dover is pleased to confirm that there were no serious injuries and an investigation is currently underway.”
