Attempted jewel robbery, Tower Hamlets Road, Dover, robber tries to spray shopworker

A jewellery robber tried to spray a shopworker.

The victim pushed the bandit away and he and his accomplice fled empty-handed.

The attempted robbery happened at a jewellery store at Tower Hamlets Road at about 5.25pm last Friday.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Two men entered the shop.

“It was reported that one of them approached the member of staff and tried to spray him with an unknown substance but the victim was able to push the man back towards the door.

“The two suspects left empty-handed, along Tower Hamlets Road towards De Burgh Street.”

Police are looking for one man described as 5 ft 10 ins tall with a slim build.

He was wearing a black hooded top with a grey scarf around his mouth and nose.

The second man police wish is described as being the same height but with a stockier build.

He was dressed in dark clothing.

Detectives need witnesses and anyone who was in the area at the time, saw anything or has any information should call Kent Police on 01843 222289.
