Motorcyclist dies after crash in Dover Road in Barham

A motorcyclist has died after a crash with a car.

Police were called to the A2 Dover Road at Barham outside Canterbury at around 3.15pm yesterday.

Officers shut the road in both directions and ambulance crews were called to the scene.

A 65-year-old local man was pronounced dead at the scene after his silver Honda CBF 600 motorcycle was involved in the crash with a silver Mercedes E220 car.

He was riding in the direction of Canterbury at the time, and the scene was clear by 8pm.

Sergeant Glyn Walker of Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "This is a well-used piece of road and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw either vehicle in the moments leading up to it to please get in touch."
