A time lapse video of ships in the Channel between Dover and Calais has had more than 52,000 views.

It was shared by Dover Eurochange on Facebook and shows ships crossing the Channel in an 18 hour period.

The post read: "If crossing a busy road seems hard sometimes, spare a thought for the Dover/Calais ferry captains! This shows about 18 hours of ship traffic."

The video shows the large amount of traffic making its way between France and England in just one day and how they must manoeuvre round scores of other vessels.

So far it has gained 52,603 views and 703 shares.
