Applications open for fugitives in new series of Channel 4's hunted after the win by Bob and Alex Ayling of Dover

Could you be the next Bob and Alex Ayling, champions of the gripping action reality show Hunted?

Now the TV programme's makers are auditioning for a new series where fugitives have to evade capture for weeks to win a big cash prize.

The Channel 4 series' applications website says: " We're looking for ordinary men and women to go on the run and try to disappear in one of the most watched nations on earth.

" If you had to disappear tomorrow, for whatever reason, with some of the world's best investigators looking for you, and some of the most cutting edge technology tracking you, could you just vanish?"

Millions of viewers on Thursday, February 8, saw Bob and his son Alex, from Dover, win the series with two other men, Daniel Murphy and Joseph Appleton.

The four stayed ahead of their pursuers for 25 days and shared in a £100,000 prize.

They had originally fled from Manchester and ended up in Devon.

They were the last of an original nine who had to reach a set location uncaptured.

The fugitives were chased by 30 hunters with search dogs, drones, CCTV and helicopters.

Those fleeing had to stay away from areas with cameras, give up making any telephone calls to avoid being traced and endure little sleep and food.

Winning was a major personal victory for Alex in getting back self-confidence as he has Asperger's Syndrome and had been bullied at school.

Applications for this news series have to be in by Monday, March 12.
