"I was born, raised and educated in this constituency and have run a small business here for many years.

"As a local man I have witnessed the neglect of our communities, from coal mines (where my grandfather worked for 40 years), the closure of three barracks and Pfizer, and the strain on public services, including schools, GPs and hospitals, from mass immigration."The message we hear from the doorsteps is that enough is enough, it's time for real change, not platitudes and more broken promises."

Liberal Democrats - Sarah Smith

"I have vision, inspiration, capability, and the energy and dedication to make real change for the good of all in Dover."A vote for me is a vote for change. It's a vote for my four priorities - jobs, infrastructure, education and regeneration - and sending a message that these are the things our constituency needs.

"What have Labour or Conservative MPs really achieved for our area? A vote for me is a vote against business as usual. It’s a vote for an MP who will ensure Dover and Deal are not left behind as the economy starts to grow."

Green Party - Jolyon Trimingham

"The response to Green Party policies on the doorstep has been great; and there are four local candidates standing in District or Dover Town elections this year.

"A vote for them would provide new green voice in local councils and if elected, Beccy Sawbridge, Lesley Riding, Peter Cutler and Aidan Shanks, would relish working with experienced, progressive, dynamic councillors seeking re-election.

"Carbon cuts to reduce climate change NOT job cuts which afflict low pay Britain – This sums up much of the detailed, costed, sensible long-term policies in our manifesto."
