It was a one vehicle crash in which it is believed the driver came off the road, crossed the pavement and crashed into a bush.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue said: "We cleared the area around the car to be able to get in and get her out. The ambulance couldn't get her out successfully so that is why we attended."

Fire crews were at the scene for around half an hour before passing the woman into the care of the ambulance service.

Her injuries are not yet known.
