Dover Athletic assistant manager Jake Leberl says they are still looking to make additions

Jake Leberl wants another midfielder to bolster Dover’s squad as they push for promotion from the National League.

In the last week, Whites have added two players on loan to their squad and the assistant manager said they are still hoping to add more.

Defender Kevin Lokko joined on loan from Stevenage last Tuesday and forward Ade Azeez signed from Cambridge United until the end of the season.

Leberl said: “In an ideal world we will add another midfielder to boost the squad. If one comes along, then he will need to have the experience at this level.

“It has been a struggle to get a couple of players in but we have now.

“Hopefully, Ade (Azeez) can get up to speed and up to match fitness quickly as he has not played too much recently.

“We know a lot about Lokko already and have played against him before so we know he will be a good addition. We have a great bunch of lads and a lot of the players know each other already.”

Dover dropped down to ninth in the National League after a 3-1 defeat at AFC Fylde on Saturday.

They face another two tough games with Leyton Orient at home on Saturday followed by a long trip to Chester on Tuesday, rearranged from earlier in the season because of the FA Trophy.

Leberl said: “They have been tight games with Leyton Orient. They were 3-0 up in the Trophy game and we got back in it but lost 4-3.

“We know each other well and there won’t be any surprises. It will be a good game and hopefully there will be a good crowd.”
