Dover Athletic striker Tobi Sho-Silva expects Whites playing style to suit his game

New arrival Tobi Sho-Silva says he hopes he’ll fit in perfectly at Dover.

The 22-year-old frontman came through the youth ranks at Charlton, from whom he had two loan spells at Welling and a brief stay at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Following his Addicks release Sho-Silva trialed with Dover last summer before joining Bromley on a permanent deal and scored 11 National League goals for the Hayes Lane side.

The striker, who goes by Tobi rather than his full name of Oluwatobi Fabian Shobowale Akintunde Sho-Silva, said: “I obviously trained here a year ago and Dover contacted my agent and then I met the manager.

"He told me some really positive things about how they are building a squad of young players here and they want to push to be even higher than they were last season (when Whites were sixth, just three points outside the play-offs)."

Sho-Silva will be relied upon to help fill the void left by the departure of 40-goal hero Ricky Miller, now at Peterborough, but he insisted he did not feel under any pressure.

He said: “Everyone is different. I don’t compare myself to others. All I do is try to be the best me I can be.

“I will work hard, I am hungry, but I’ll keep my feet on the ground and keep the right mindset. I go into every game looking to score and to win.”

He added: “The manager told me about the style he wants to play and hopefully it will suit me. I am looking to get as much service as possible, score lots of goals and win games.

"I like to get in behind, play direct with pace and power, close down from the front. I’m a good team player and I just want to win. I hate losing.

“I had a good end to the season at Bromley and I am looking to build off that.

“I have had a chance to relax and chill during the off-season but I am itching to go again now."
