Dover Athletic sign former Arsenal, Norwich, Stevenage and Forest Green keeper Steve Arnold and midfielder Mitchell Pinnock

Dover boss Chris Kinnear has added to his ranks ahead of the new Vanarama National League season with the signing of keeper Steve Arnold and midfielder Mitchell Pinnock.

Imposing Arnold, who turns 27 next month, joins from Forest Green Rovers where he made 29 league appearances last season, three of them coming in Dover's final three games of the campaign, including both legs of the play-off semi-final which saw Whites ousted 2-1 on aggregate.

His last appearance for Rover came at Wembley in May's 3-1 play-off final defeat to Grimsby and he is set to battle Mitch Walker for the gloves at Crabble after the departure of Andy Rafferty at the end of last season.

Arnold - who is based in the south east - moved to the New Lawn two years ago after leaving Stevenage, having previously come through the youth ranks at Arsenal and Norwich City.

After leaving the Canaries without making a first-team appearance Arnold joined Grays where his impressive performances earned a move to Football League Wycombe Wanderers, from where he moved to League 1 Stevenage, making more than 30 appearances in 2012/13, though being blighted by injury in the following campaign.

Arnold played 45 minutes of Dover's impressive 2-0 win over League 2 side Leyton Orient on Saturday, with victory over former Whites and Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler secured by goals either side of half-time from Ricky Miller and Tyrone Marsh.

Meanwhile Dover's first clash of the season with Forest Green - which could see Arnold face his former club - has been chosen for live coverage on BT Sport.

The game on Saturday, September 10, will now be a 12.15pm kick-off at Crabble.

Former Maidstone midfielder Pinnock has also signed a deal with the club to run until the end of the season.

Pinnock joined on non-contract terms midway through last season but has impressed in his 45 minutes in each of the club's pre-season friendly wins against Billericay, AFC WImbledon and Orient.
