Dover Athletic assistant manager Jake Leberl targeting a strong finish to the Vanarama Conference season

Dover Athletic may have already secured their Vanarama Conference status for a second consecutive season but Jake Leberl says fans can rest assured there will be no easing off by the players.

The Dover assistant boss said Whites, who remained 10th after Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Wrexham, still had plenty to play for in the final five games.

He said: “We can have a huge say in what happens in the race for promotion.

“We play four of the seven teams still in the hunt (Eastleigh, Woking, Bristol Rovers and Forest Green) and I can tell you that they won’t be relishing playing us. They know it’s not going to be easy.

“They will all have the pressure on them to get a result against us and we’ve proven this season that we are more than capable of matching it with the big boys and beating them.

“We also want to finish as high as we can so we will be just as hungry as those chasing promotion to get a result.

“Take it from me, the lads will be right up for the run-in and are looking forward to the challenge.

“For some of the lads, they are playing for contracts, so they will be keen to really put it in over these final games.”
