Dover Athletic striker Ricky Miller and manager Chris Kinnear react to win over Forest Green Rovers

Dover star Ricky Miller revealed the 'euphoria' which followed his spectacular goal which capped a stunning 4-3 win against Forest Green Rovers.

Miller fired a hat-trick as Whites overcame the Vanarama National League title favourites, who had won six on the spin and who also ousted Dover in last season's play-off semi-finals.

In a game televised live on BT Sport his first showcased quick feet in the box, his second came from the spot while his third, two minutes from time, was a 20-yard blockbuster into the top corner and the forward admitted: "It was awesome."

"You're on TV aswell so it's always good to put in a good performance. If they'd have beaten us they'd have been a bit further ahead of us so we needed to peg them back a little bit. It's a massive three points."

Miller admitted: "I wasn't having the best of days, I kept cutting inside but (the defender) kept reading me. I kept persisting and it paid off in the end and it flew in the top corner.

"As soon as I hit it I knew it was in. It was just a question of how I was going to celebrate. It was euphoric."

Dover came from a goal down and then rebounded after twice being pegged back by the big-spending visitors and a delighted boss Chris Kinnear claimed: "It was exciting wasn't it?"

He said: "When you attack you're going to give goals away - I'm not sure about riding our luck, but if you play defensively you're not going to do that.

"We're trying to score more than anyone else. I think we were third highest scorers in the division last season.

"The lads have got great character, every time they came back the lads got up and went again. That's what we expect from our players."

He claimed: "I think it should give the lads a lot of confidence - that's probably the best side I've seen in this league since we were promoted. They are an excellent side, but that doesn't mean you lie down and let them beat you."
