Dover Athletic will risk striker Ricky Miller despite being one booking from a ban

Dover manager Chris Kinnear has no plans to rest Ricky Miller with half-an-eye on their FA Cup replay against Cambridge United.

Whites’ in-demand leading scorer Miller netted his 18th goal of the season in the closing stages to earn his side a creditable 1-1 draw at their League 2 hosts on Saturday.

It was confirmed on Tuesday night that the replay at Crabble will be screened live on BT Sport on Thursday, November 17 at 7.45pm, earning the club £33,750, with another £18,000 prize money available for the winners of the tie.

Miller is just one booking away from a suspension and a caution in Dover’s National League game at Solihull Moors on Saturday (3pm) would see him miss the Cambridge tie, although Kinnear insisted he was not considering resting the striker.

He said: “You can’t deal with things like that. He and Aswad Thomas both had knocks last Saturday but they should both be all right.

“You can’t start leaving players out because they’re a booking away from getting
banned.

“You can’t pick and choose when the suspensions come. We’ll just get on with it – he knows the situation and hopefully he is able to play and get through it without getting booked.

“Kevin Raine has been to see Solihull and I’ll have a good look at them this week.”

With Richard Orlu, Tyrone Marsh and Steve Arnold all fit and Sammy Moore available after being cup-tied, Kinnear claimed his line-up was ‘under consideration’ adding: “We’ll have a look at everyone at training at Thursday but we might not make a final decision before Saturday.”

One of those who could be set for the bench, despite lacking match fitness, is former Maidstone and Welling midfielder Joe Healy whose move to Crabble last week irked Stones boss Jay Saunders who had expected Healy to return to the Gallagher Stadium after travelling overseas.

Sam Magri is, however, unavailable as he has been called-up to the senior Malta squad for the first time ahead of Friday night’s World Cup qualifier against Slovenia at the National Stadium in Valletta and the friendly clash with Euro 2016 heroes Iceland on Tuesday night.
